If you’re in the mood to read a drama or thriller, this is the book for you. This novel takes place in the picture perfect suburbs. But Essie has secrets she’s been hiding that begin unraveling after forming a relationship with Isabelle. When Life Gives You Lululemons by Lauren Weisberger


If you loved The Devil Wears Prada then this is the book for you! This novel is about Miranda Priestly’s ex-assistant, Emily. She leaves New York City behind to work as an image consultant in Greenwich, Connecticut. Emily takes on an infamous supermodel and senator’s wife, Karolina Hartwell, who is attempting to fix her reputation after receiving a DUI. We see Emily grow and build friendships all while trying to manage celebrity client Karolina.

 

I'm Fine...And Other Lies by Whitney Cummings

 

If you want to laugh while getting a little self-help this summer, this is the book for you! Whitney Cummings takes us from her childhood to adulthood in her own hilarious way. This novel is filled with stories so entertaining, you might almost forget they are true events. She’s extremely relatable and funny. Whitney writes about her anxiety, body dysmorphia, co-dependency disorder, and mistakes. She also talks about “mortifying situations that’ll make you feel way better about your own choices.” Whitney is honest and witty no matter how embarrassing the topic.

 

The Line Becomes A River: Dispatches from the Border by Francisco Cantú


If you’re looking to read something a little more serious, this is the book for you! Francisco Cantu, the grandson of a Mexican immigrant is dying to uncover more about the controversy and meaning of the border. Even though his mother is extremely against the idea, Francisco believes the only way to truly understand the border is to join the border patrol. He recaps the harsh reality of being a border cop and all of the shocking truths he discovered about it. Sparing no gruesome detail, Francisco delivers a new perspective on this hot topic.

 

Yes Please by Amy Poehler

Saturday Night Live star Amy Poehler is brutally honest about how hectic her life was when beginning to write this memoirish novel. She had two sons, new projects, a recent divorce and a new love. Amy takes you through her life starting with her childhood and delivers honest takeaways in her own funny way. She talks about her time at SNL, getting married, becoming a mother and everything in between.
