What is your every day or go to hairstyle?
“Probably down and with some waves that I put in with a wand. It’s so easy and effortless. You face the wand downwards and wrap your hair around it away from the face.”
Have you ever tried any drastic or out-of-character hairstyles?
“I’m naturally a brunette and now I’m currently blonde so that’s pretty drastic for me. I don’t really venture out with my hair. Most recently I tried a Kim K super straight lob. It’s grown out already, but I actually really loved it. It’s great shorter hair is trendy now which means I can pull it off.”
What is one non-negotiable part of your hair-care or styling routine?
“I would say if dry shampoo is #1 because I only wash my hair twice a week on average. If I wear it down, I do have to blow-dry it. I feel like it’s too frizzy if I don’t.”
What is your favorite hair-care secret to gorgeous hair? (Ex - using hair masks, curling hair with a straightener, putting hair up in a microfiber towel, etc.)
“My biggest tip that people always ask me is how I get waves. I use a one-inch wand to get those beach waves. I love a good texturizing spray which I’ll spray right before I blow-dry it so when I put my curls in, they stay instead of falling out. My favorite one is from TJ Maxx.”
Who is your hair inspiration or hair goals? Why?
“I would say Kim K because she can go brown to blonde, braids to straight to lob effortlessly.”
If you could magically change your hair to any length and color for one day, what would your dream hair look like?
“It would be super thick and super long. I would maybe do a natural, warm brunette that is long and down to my waist.”
What are you most proud of about your hair?
“I would say I honestly feel really lucky because my hair does whatever I want it to do. I’ve always had pretty good hair where if I have an updo or style, it holds up. If I put curls in it, they’ll usually hold up. It’s not that thick but I feel like my texture is pretty good and I really like that whatever I do, it behaves.”
How did you figure out what haircut/color is most flattering for you?
“I would say I tried out a lot of different colors and cuts. I’ve added a bit of warmer tones to my hair because I have olive skin, so it just compliments my features better. I’m a brunette naturally but I’ll put some face-framing highlights in. And you can always tell in pictures what looks best.
For the cut, my hair just stops growing at a certain point. I leave it at that natural point where it stops growing and get it cut every 6-8 weeks to keep the shape and health. A little longer than shoulder length is what looks best on me.”
If you had to pick one quote or short piece advice to promote hair confidence and acceptance, what would it be?
“Rock whatever you feel good in. Don’t care too much what other people say. If you feel pretty and good with whatever hairstyle, go with it confidently.”
