Jozy is working towards her degree in Journalism at the University of Minnesota. She loves all things clothes, fitness, photography and traveling. She started her blog in 2016 as a space to express her love for fashion and inspire others to develop their own unique style.

What is your every day or go to hairstyle?

My everyday go-to style is loose waves. I typically only wash my hair 2-3 times each week in order for my hair to stay lush and healthy. After I wash my hair, I let it air dry (when time allows) and curl it once its dry. I try to make these initial curls last a couple days before re-washing and re-styling.

Have you ever tried any drastic or out-of-character hairstyles?

Besides cornrows for my dance recitals back when I was in elementary school (long story - haha) and my teasing phase back in high school, I am not too crazy when it comes to my hairstyles. I used to add all sorts of volume to my hair with a teasing brush but looking back, I dread every photo with that style! My favorite style is definitely just a simple loose wave with natural volume.

What is one non-negotiable part of your hair-care or styling routine?

Whenever I am applying a heat tool to my hair, heat protecting spray always comes first. I've done a lot of coloring to my hair which has made it more fragile than it was previously which makes heat protecting spray all the more important when it comes to styling.

What is your favorite hair-care secret to gorgeous hair? (Ex - using hair masks, curling hair with a straightener, putting hair up in a microfiber towel, etc.)

I'm not one to get a blow-out every day, but I definitely think treating yourself to a blowout at a salon where they use quality products definitely makes a difference in keeping my hair healthy & happy. Plus, it's the perfect treat for special occasions!

Who is your hair inspiration or hair goals? Why?

I have always loved Blake Lively's hair - the color is perfect and full of volume!

If you could magically change your hair to any length and color for one day, what would your dream hair look like?

I would definitely want to try more of an ashy blonde at a bit longer length than what I have right now. I've always wanted natural beach waves so to magically have those would be amazing!

What are you most proud of about your hair?

I am proud of my hair for the fact that it has stayed so long and healthy despite all the heat that's been applied to it over the years!

How did you figure out what haircut/color is most flattering for you?

I've definitely been all over the board when it comes to color and cut, but for a majority of my life, I've always had long hair. I cut it pretty short last Fall and end up getting hair extensions in the spring because I missed my long hair! I'm naturally a dark brunette, but I think that the long blonde hair is definitely my look.

If you had to pick one quote or short piece of advice to promote hair confidence and acceptance, what would it be?

Treat your hair as you would your best friend, give it love, spend time taking care of it and it will be your best friend in return.
