What is your everyday or go to hairstyle?
Usually my go to hairstyle is straight or curled with a middle part. I had a side part up until 5 years ago when my friend asked if I’d let her part my hair in the middle, and I ended up really liking the way it looked.
Have you ever tried any drastic or out-of-character hairstyles?
Not anything too crazy but I dye my hair a lot. In high school I had purple hair, red hair, black hair...and now I’m blonde! I’ve done a lot of colors, nothing too crazy with the cut, but I used to have long hair down to my butt. Crazy long hair. But most days I love having short hair because it’s so easy to work with and takes me no time at all to style.
What is one non-negotiable part of your hair-care or styling routine?
Probably my Olaplex treatment that I do. I do it once a week, or once every two weeks, and my hair is so silky smooth and the color is just better. My other tip for hair-care is I’ve been taking biotin once a day and I can see a difference in my skin and my hair growth.
What is your favorite hair-care secret to gorgeous hair? (Ex - using hair masks, curling hair with a straightener, putting hair up in a microfiber towel, etc.)
Favorite for me, personally, is a Wet Brush. I like to dry my hair naturally vs using a hair dryer. That way it dries straight instead of all crazy. I also use detangler. When my hair is wet or damp, it’s hard to brush through so I use detangler and the wet brush to get the knots out.
Who is your hair inspiration or hair goals? Why?
Hair goals - I’m going to go with Blake Lively. Her hair is alway perfect and volumized. The hair color! She works it so well. Every style is so natural and beautiful but never too crazy or insane. It always just looks amazing.
If you could magically change your hair to any length and color for one day, what would your dream hair look like?
It would probably be longer than it is right now. About mid back length. A golden blonde with some highlights like kind of like Hailey Baldwin’s hair.
What are you most proud of about your hair?
The texture. I always get compliments that it looks shiny and smooth. I’d say when it’s straight or curled it looks and feels soft.
How did you figure out what haircut/color is most flattering for you?
I’ve tried so many things and for me I recently went actually blonde. The last few years I had brunette highlights until about a month ago. I always liked when my hair would start getting lighter in the summer so I was like you know what, I’m going to try going full blonde and see what happens.
My roots are still dark but everyone wasn’t even recognizing me at first because I dyed my hair. Over time I went from 4 years ago having pitch black hair and now I’m almost full blonde. I realized the lighter my hair was, the tanner I looked and I liked that contrast better. Lengthwise, I used to have really long hair then I cut it shoulder length so I started growing it out more. The length is medium now and I like it a lot better. I’ve experimented with a lot of colors and lengths to get to where I am today.
If you had to pick one quote or short piece advice to promote hair confidence and acceptance, what would it be?
I would say that first thing is that hair can always grow back. You can always change the color of it if you dye it one color and don’t like it because there are a variety of ways to get it back. Have fun, use the right products and make sure you have a great hair stylist.
