What is your every day or go to hairstyle?
"If I’m not doing anything that day, I will literally put my hair up in a bun. That’s my go to, I’ll just leave it alone. It’s stress-free. If I’m going out my go to is curling my hair and putting a headband on it."
Have you ever tried any drastic or out-of-character hairstyles?
"Yes, and I’ve messed up my hair pretty bad. I have dark black hair and my hair was down to my waist. I decided I wanted to do a balayage, and my hairstylist didn’t know how to work with Asian hair. She completely bleached it. It didn’t look like balayage, there was a disconnect. It just went from dark black to blonde. She bleached my hair for so long that it started shedding! I’m still in the process of growing out my hair and using mane and tail to salvage my hair."
What is one non-negotiable part of your hair-care or styling routine?
"Brushing it with a wet brush. My hair is so brittle, I feel like a regular hair brush breaks it all off. The moment I’m out of the shower I have to brush it otherwise it will tangle."
What is your favorite hair-care secret to gorgeous hair? (Ex - using hair masks, curling hair with a straightener, putting hair up in a microfiber towel, etc.)
"I would say using products that are all organic and sulfate free, I feel like that has helped my hair so much and using coconut oil as a mask."
If you could magically change your hair to any length and color for one day, what would your dream hair look like?
"My dream hair would be like a silver color and have it be a super choppy edgy lob."
How did you figure out what haircut/color is most flattering for you?
"When I was in middle school I used to cut my own hair and I used to give myself those crazy emo hairstyles with side bangs. When I got over that phase I decided to grow out my hair. One day, I saw a picture of Vanessa Hudgens and her hair was parted in the middle so I tried doing it because we have similar face shapes and it thins out your face. I have a round face so I feel like that really goes well with my face shape."
If you had to pick one quote or short piece advice to promote hair confidence and acceptance, what would it be?
"Hair grows back. I know that sounds sad but I chose that because people are so scared to do something crazy or drastic with their hair. But it’s better to try something now than regret not trying because your hair will grow back."
